Hokonui Moonshiners Festival
Feb. 25, 2012
Join us in celebrating a unique Southland history, and New Zealand’s original boutique whisky festival.
The Hokonui Moonshiners’ Festival is a ‘Must Do’ event on Southland’s summer calendar. It is held annually in late February at the home of the legend - Gore, New Zealand.
Lovers of southern cuisine, fine wine, beer and whisky will be treated to an outdoor event focused on the legend of ‘Hokonui Moonshine’.
Throughout the day festival goers can ‘whet their whistles’ and ‘tantalize their tastebuds’ whilst enjoying a fantastic entertainment lineup from the centre stage.
Complementing the festival visitors can also discover the legend of Hokonui Moonshine in our world class Moonshine Museum, retrace the district’s past by exploring the Gore Historical Museum and visit the Eastern Southland Gallery with its John Money Wing and Ralph Hotere Gallery.
